My Choices & Values

It is very important to me that each & every product used inside Devoted be clean & one that will not harm any living being or this beautiful planet. It must be safe for hair, skin, the water we drink & the air we breathe. It's also important to me that the businesses creating these products are transparent, supportive & eco-conscious. So, in the spirit of education, transparency & an effort to share more about my values, I'm going to share more information about the lines I carry below & you can use the links above to try them out for yourself.

I use Saloncycle to recycle all color, color tubes, gloves, foil & hair. I chose Easydry for my towels, because they decompose in 100 days, therefore more environmental than laundering towels, which can actually contain plastics so they last longer, boo!

OWAY

I use OWAY, an Italian hair care line for shampoos, Head Spa scalp facials, and masques. They practice zero-mile growing on their Ortofficina estate in the hills of Bologna, using the biodynamic method to obtain pure, effective essential oils and extracts without chemicals. OWAY packages their formulas rich in natural ingredients in glass or aluminum, eliminating plastic and unnecessary packaging. Agricosmetica® promotes eco-sustainable materials like paper, wood, metal, and cotton. OWAY uses renewable energy for processes to reduce environmental impact. The main styling line I use is Cult & King

Cult+King is more than just exceptional hair and shave products; it's a movement for positive change. In a world dominated by sweatshop-made clothing and environmentally harmful products, we've decided to take matters into our own hands. Our mission is to blend consciousness, style, and identity while defending the planet, supporting local businesses, and ensuring people look great without harming their health or the environment.

Our commitment to natural, botanical, and sustainable ingredients sets us apart. We meticulously choose ingredients, focusing on purity, ethical sourcing, and organic elements. All our products are vegan, except for organic beeswax in BALM and STYLE. We prioritize clean ingredients, free from harmful substances like formaldehyde, parabens, and synthetic dyes. Our stance against plastic and styrofoam reflects our dedication to a cleaner planet.

We encourage a shift from throwaway culture by creating beautiful, reusable packaging. Our glass, aluminum, bamboo, and wood containers are meant to be refilled, contributing to both cost efficiency and environmental sustainability. We firmly oppose animal testing and proudly hold Leaping Bunny Certification.

HUI HUI ESSENTIALS

A main product in my Head Spa scalp facial treatments is Hui Hui Scalp Rescue created by a hairdressing peer of mine.

Hui Hui Essentials was founded in Hollywood, California, by Lori Huitron with a clear mission: create a non-toxic, non-GMO, ritualistic hair growth stimulant that simultaneously repairs scalp conditions. In her words...

"Five years ago, I lost my best friend, in coping with the sadness of this huge loss in my life, I consequently experienced hair loss and scalp issues. Being a professional hairstylist for almost two decades, I'd come across many clients with scalp issues. It was so common - and now I, too, was experiencing it. I searched endlessly for an existing product to treat my problems that were both safe and effective.

We founded Hairstory with the intention of being a more sustainable and mindful business. We use non-toxic ingredients and refillable packaging, and we financially support like-minded, hands-on nonprofits that do the heavy lifting in defending and improving the environment.

✓ We decrease individual plastic usage by 91% and emissions from plastic by 85% every time someone replaces their bottles of shampoo and conditioner with 32 oz. New Wash.
